Under the direction of the Fitness Director, the Fitness Instructor shall be responsible for conducting the YWCAs Fitness Class Program.
3-5 hours per work teaching classes for members. Fitness Instructor Certification preferred.
|Duties:||Essential Duties and Responsibilities: |
Exemplifies the lifestyle and attributes of which he or she is a proponent, including physical fitness and healthy living.
Communicates the YWCA policies and special events to members.
Provides consistent leadership in assigned classes.
Assists the YWCA staff in marketing the program to the YWCA membership and community.
Conducts classes in a positive, professional manner.
Keeps class attendance.
Conforms class to exercise standards established by the American College of Sports Medicine (in mode, duration, frequency and intensity).
Makes certain that the facility is safe, clean, and free of obstructions; corrects any problems and reports them to the appropriate staff.
Knows and practices established emergency procedures in the event of an accident.
|Qualifications:||High school diploma or general equivalency degree. Silver Sneakers Certification is required. CPR training required.|

Demonstrated skill in facilitating positive relationships with class participants, members and staff.
Prior Silver Sneaker instruction experience.
Demonstrated skills and knowledge necessary to fulfill a fitness class leadership role.
